New Year, New Beginnings

01-03-10

First of all, we want to take this opportunity to say that we hope everyone had a great holiday season and wish everyone a very happy new year, may all of you have a peaceful and successful progression through life in 2010! Speaking of which, we would love to hear about your New Year’s Resolutions or “Best Of” lists regarding the last decade or year, share with us on our Facebook page!

Moving on, I have to concur with what Mike said in our previous blog post, running a business is definitely a learning experience. Roughly 7 months into this new chapter in our lives… it’s quite apparent that running a business is very much a full time job, more-so than we thought going into this.. It seems that new things get added to our to-do lists that we never saw coming… and juggling these things along with our day jobs and my classes is simply overwhelming at times. BUT, what can we say? We love what we’re doing here at PeaceLine Clothing, we love the people, we love the art, we love the culture and we’re very passionate about what we’re creating. So, all in all we can’t complain that our to-do lists sometimes run into the early morning, but we will say that in the new year we’re going to try and stay in closer contact with all of you, keeping you more up-to-date with what’s going on here at PeaceLine Clothing through our blog. However, if you want to stay more up-to-date with what’s going on at PeaceLine Clothing, then you should become a fan on our Facebook page, there you can catch our Music Mondays, occasional Creative Thursdays, and simply what’s going on in our neck of the woods.

In regards to what’s going on here at PeaceLine Clothing, we’re very proud to announce that the Toy Drive for Kosair Charities was a success. Now, first off, we have to admit that we got beat out by bureaucracy in our quest to team up with a local store, that and the fact that we’re still an extremely young company. However, through some personal connections, we were able to find a group of girls that believed in our cause and were willing to help out. The Zeta Chapter of Delta Omicron at the University of Louisville were willing to hold a Chili Cook Off in order to raise money, and as a result they were able to make a sizable donation to our fund, which in its entirety went towards the purchasing of toys for Kosair Charities, just in time for Christmas Day. We want to extend a very appreciative Thank You to these girls, who went out of their way to raise money for a very worthy cause once they heard what we were doing, and in the process brought a lot of smiles to children who unfortunately had to spend the holidays in the hospital. All in all, we were able to donate an amazing amount of toys, and though it didn’t reach the size we originally envisioned, we have to call this a success.

Looking towards this new year, I’m proud to say that we have a lot of things in the planning stages. I won’t give any specifics just yet, but know that we are networking with new artists and musicians both locally and nationally, planning on expanding to different cities, looking to expand our inventory past clothing and working on our spring line. Between all of this, we’re staying pretty busy. And like I said, we’re going to try to keep everyone more up to date in the new year via more blog posts. However, you can always check out our Facebook page for updates, Music Mondays and the occasional Creative Thursdays.

Peace and Much Love,

KII

Lessons Learned and Looking Forward
10-27-09

Running a business is a learning experience. You hear it all the time but never really understand the extent of truth in the statement until you're there. If you haven't noticed, we've been announcing new shirts and hoodies over the last couple of blog posts and have yet to deliver. Instead of pointing fingers and playing the blame game, I'm going to come right out and say that we're humans and have been caught slacking. We do have designs we're considering and we are closer to finalizing the orders but we're not quite there yet. I've been long told that one of the best strategies in business is to under promise and over deliver. Expect more of that from us from here on out.

Now that I've got that out of the way, lets move on to the upbeat. If you're reading this, pause for a second and notice our upgraded web page. If you're one of our beloved customers, please do take a second to register and leave a review of our service and product in the guestbook. Or register and start a discussion for other users to join in on. Either is great. Also this month, I had the honor to sit down with one of Louisville's hottest artists, be sure to check out our discussion on the music page...pics will be added shortly.

On another front, we have gotten the much needed go ahead and backing from Kosair to start the toy drive. Now comes A LOT of planning. We're going to need receptacles, signs, volunteers, locations to set said receptacles and most importantly, toys. If you can help with ANY of this, please contact me at mike@peaceline.net. Or you can reach me by messaging us on facebook, or myspace, or even twitter. Email would be preferred though.

Even more good news, today we ordered our first round of accessories so be on the lookout for scarves in the following weeks. If you like them when they get here, order one. This is a test run so we kept the numbers small. We're gauging whether or not to stock more on the demand this trial creates. If you wait, you're probably going to be out of luck. Seriously, they're a hot item, and I do expect them to move fast. Plus, you know we've got you on the good price, I already know we're charging AT LEAST half of what you'd pay in the store.

Other than that, that's about all. The 25% sale is still on, but will be ending when we get more inventory in...Including the scarves, new tees, and the hoodies. Oh and we're trying some cool new things on facebook, too. Check our page every Monday for new music that we think you should be up on and then later in the week, we hit you with videos that inspire us with their creativity, artfulness, or vision. Should be dope and as always, you can submit your favorite vids to us and turn us on to something new. This is a two way street. Or at least we want it to be...

Until next time,

love life.

Lee.

Fall Savings and Changes

9-29-09

Im pleased to say that we currently have a lot going on here at PeaceLine. Amongst the things keeping us busy is a new 25% off sale (which is an online only offer), the previously mentioned toy drive, new t-shirt designs, our first hoodies and an upgraded website! As always, if you want to find out about all of this as its happening, then join us on facebook, twitter and myspace, you can find links to us at each website at the top of the page.

Our 25% off sale is our way of celebrating our favorite time of year, fall! Both Mike and I love fall and were thoroughly enjoying the weather here in Louisville. So, to celebrate, were giving savings to everybody and anybody thats interested in getting 25% off their entire purchase with us! So take advantage of this offer while it lasts, where else can you get a high quality shirt for so cheap? Also, we want to remind everyone that 5% of ALL purchases goes towards Kosair Charitie, a very worthwhile cause that we feel very passionate about, to read more about Kosair Charities and why we chose them, go on over to our music page.

Moving forward, were very excited to announce that were in the process of getting a new shirt design printed, and with this order will be our first crack at hoodies; were extremely excited to get the hoodies out. Right now were still deciding on which designs to go with and banging out some details, but well post some sneak peaks on our facebook, twitter and myspace pages once weve finalized these details. Hopefully we get these new shirts and hoodies out within the next few weeks.

Lastly, our website is in the process of being upgraded, in the next couple weeks you will find a more integrated website, with additions such as a fuller music/arts section (artist photo albums, new suggested listening, artist interviews) and a guestbook for people to leave feedback on regarding their shopping experience with us, comments on the website and so on.

For now, thats the bulk of whats on our plates, and were quite excited to move forward and see what this beautiful fall weather brings us. If youre out and about in Louisville enjoying this weather, dont forget that you can head on over to Ear X-Tacy and pick up both shirts for just $15.99. Well keep everyone updated on the details of everything going on, and dont forget to join us on myspace, twitter and facebook if you havent already done so, links right above!

Peace,

KII

Fall and Beyond

9-07-09

As the days get shorter and the air starts to cool off a bit, the wheels are turning harder than ever here at PeaceLine Clothing. We've got a lot of big plans for our fall collection and for the company's growth in general. Keep your eyes open for a couple of new designs in the coming month or so as the original two sell out (Word to the wise: we're not sure how we're going to handle reprints yet so if you want either Keep Peace Alive or Table Manners, I'd get them now while I still could). At the time of this typing, we've sold out half of the inventory we stocked at Ear-X-Tacy and I can't begin to tell you how good that feels. Thanks to everyone who has already copped one. If you've been to Ear-X-Tacy and they didn't have the size you wanted, let us know. The larger sizes are moving fast there and we're considering trading out the smaller ones. The number of both designs I have on hand are also dangerously low. Especially of Table Manners. Apparently, that's a hot shirt.

In the meantime, if you're local and want a Table Manners shirt, you need to head to Street Moda on Baxter Avenue immediately. They've got them in all sizes for only $14.99...THAT'S THE LOWEST PRICE IN TOWN! As a matter of fact it's the same price you'd be paying to get it directly from us and you wouldn't have to pay shipping or wait for delivery! The number they have is limited though, so act fast if you're interested in that deal. They also have a lot of kicks to match your new shirt. Plus the prices really are dirt cheap. Trust, I wouldn't send you there if it weren't in your pocket's best interest.

I'll be scouting out a few new stores this week to carry us and our fall line, so check back here for that updated info.

I know a lot of you are waiting and anxiously anticipating our initial interview with an artist of the month; you have my word that it is coming soon. The questions are ready to go, the artist is excited and so are we. We're just trying to work out schedules. Dude is busy doing his music and getting some sit down time with him is not easy. What can you say though; he's fire right now.

On the charity front, I'm extremely proud to say we're in the process of organizing a MASSIVE toy drive to benefit Kosair kids this upcoming holiday season. It's going to take a lot of community participation if it's going to be a success so I'm hoping and praying that I can count on you to do what you can to help. I'll let you know more details as they're finalized but know that we're aiming to collect THOUSANDS of toys for the little ones. They deserve that small slice of happiness given all they deal with, don't you think? If you're interested in helping organize, contact me at mike@peaceline.net.

That's pretty much it for now. Don't forget to add us on facebook, myspace, and to follow us on twitter. If you're from around here, you probably have a mojo page and guess what, so do we! Check us out there too.

Peace for now.

Lee.

First Week of Business

7-26-09

Well we've been in business for just over a week, and as far as the first week of a new business goes, it was a good week. There weren't any major complications, a few snags, a few scares? but ultimately nothing that we couldn't deal with. All in all, I'm quite excited for the future of PeaceLine.

One thing that we didn't see coming was the support and words of encouragement that we received from so many people. Whether it was an email, a bit of advice, or someone complimenting one of our shirts while we were out somewhere... We would like to thank everyone who took the time to let us know that you like what we're doing? it really means a lot to know that you appreciate our designs, our business goals or both.

Looking towards the future, PeaceLine will be carried in a couple more stores this week, so we'll post the details on all our pages once that is set up. You can also find our "Keep Peace Alive" bumper stickers in various stores around the city; I'll list those locations at the bottom of the page. Also, we ship a free bumper sticker with every purchase made online, while supplies last!

Lastly, the 20% off sale ends Saturday! That's both shirts, each for only 12 dollars!!! You can't find a quality street fashion t-shirt for that cheap anywhere else! So take advantage of the sale and get a shirt before the sale is over, shirts ship the next day!!!

Locations to find "Keep Peace Alive" bumper stickers: Ear X-Tacy, Book & Music Exchange (Bardstown), Highland Coffee, Heine Brothers Coffee (Barstown & Eastern), Half Price Books (Hurstbourne and Westport).

Grand Opening!

7-18-09

The website is finally up, and we're in business! We've been preparing for this for about 6 months, and we're thrilled to finally be up and running. If you would like to better understand what we're about or contact us, then you can visit the Company page, but here is a quick overview.

PeaceLine Clothing is owned and run by two emcees who have a strong passion for good music, peace, and street fashion. Peaceline Clothing is first and foremost a clothing company, and we hope to branch out to more than just t-shirts in the near future. However, street wear has over time become just a part of what PeaceLine Clothing truly is.

We have begun to not just support peace through our designs, but actually act on what we talk about, thus, we will donate 5% of ALL purchases to charities. Right now our charity is Kosair Charities (you can read more about Kosiar Charities on the company page) and as we grow, we plan to add more charities to this list.

As we proceed into the future, we have plans to make the support of good, mostly independent music a distinct part of who we are. As you can see on the Music page, we have already started a "suggested listening" section, which we will update monthly. We also plan to add an artist of the month as well, so, if you would like to apply for that then please contact us, all genres welcome.
